Located near Orlando, Florida is a wildlife, entertainment attraction called
Gatorland. One of the distinctive features as it relates to wildlife photographers is a bird rookery with a boardwalk that runs right through. In the winter, there are literally hundreds of nests with many of the popular wading birds, which happen to be my favorite birds to photograph. Not being a birder, I very much enjoy shooting the larger birds in breeding plumage. It is also fun to capture courting and nesting behaviors. Up until 2011, Gatorland was one of the must see places for photographers. In 2011, there was a change of ownership and the photographer friendly policies changed. They also installed a zip line that ran right over the lagoon in which the rookery was located. At this point I don't know how great a place it is and how accessible to photographers. But you should check it out.
