n March, 2007, I spent 5 days in Homer, Alaska photographing Bald Eagles. I was with 11 other photographers participating in a workshop organized by master photographer, Charles Glatzer (www.shootthelight.com). Jean Keene has been feeding the eagles for the winter months in Homer for many years. The residents of Homer have enacted an ordinance that will end this practice by 2010, so this was a great opportunity to see these magnificent birds in great numbers and up close. Jeanne Keene died in 2009 which ended the practice. You can still go to Homer to photograph eagles in the winter, but it isn't the same.
